For over 25 years in business, Wendy Kay has enjoyed her representation of artists from the 50’s to the 90’s but her most enjoyable part of her business
is in event production and her themed package shows.
"The reason our package shows are so successful is because we give the buyer more bang for their buck," says Wendy. "The audience gets to hear a variety
of artists. Rather than spend 'X' amount on one name the buyer can spend the same amount on four to six names." Some of these packages include
The Teen Idols, The Original Stars of Bandstand, The Sensational Sixties Show,
Doo Wop Live, A Love
Affair: Disco & Rhythm & Blues,
various Tribute and Variety Packages ...
and so much more.
The prelude to what would become Utopia, was the Mars Talent Agency started in 1972 by Wendy's father, Arnie Kay. His specialty was
booking '50s and '60s artists. In 1985, Wendy joined the family business and never left. In 2007 Wendy joined forces with the principals of Paradise
Artists and formed their sister company, Utopia Artists and Event Production.
"I don't see things changing overall for the classic rock/nostalgia market. People thrive on memories of a better time. They can hear the words and relate
to their past. There will never be a better time of music. The songs are in every movie, every commercial and TV production… totally recognizable. And it's
affordable in comparison to today's artists. I plan to continue to travel on many of my dates to get to meet the buyers I have been dealing with for many years.
I plan to be around for quite some time."

The new concept packages that are going out this year are ‘Real Housewives from Atlantic City, NY, NJ, OC and Atlanta,’ which will be touring with a great show called
“Dishin’ With the Divas”. Lots of fun and plenty of audience participation. Utopia also has a
dance production with Kriyss Grant from Michael Jackson’s “This Is It”.
“Dance is such a strong influence everywhere, so this show is contemporary and timely,” says Kay. Kay is also bullish on a forthcoming package that will
feature the
group Pablo Cruise and one with Gloria
Gaynor.

Over her 25 years Wendy has established close relationships with many agencies, management companies and sound/light companies and can book
and personally handles each aspect of the intended production. Her hands-on approach is like none other.

Wendy understands the intricate work of backstage/onstage production and what will work for each specific event. She has worked with major corporations public and
private to produce successful events such as Camelot for Children,King Industries, Center for the Deaf, Aids Research of Stuart
FL, Big E Exhibitions, multiple fairs, festivals, and, assorted fundraising events.
